‘THE HAMILTON TRAVEL’ DOUBLES TENNIS TOURNAMENT 2010

For the tenth consecutive year, the Council of the Tennis Club Kordin has the pleasure to announce ‘THE HAMILTON TRAVEL DOUBLES’ TENNIS TOURNAMENT’ kindly sponsored by “Hamilton Travel-Malta” of Floriana, agents and operators for traveling.

This Tournament will be held at TCK between the 4^th.May and the 17^th June 2010. Matches will played every Tuesday, Thursday and maybe Wednesday

Members are informed that this tournament shall consist of “Men’s Doubles and Ladies’ Doubles. Couples shall be placed in groups according to their playing standard.

A match consist of two sets with a tie-break at 6 all and when the score is one set all a Match TIE-BREAK UP TO 10 (not 7) WITH ADVANTAGE OF TWO POINTS will be played instead of a third set. One point will be awarded for every set won and also for the Tie-Break when applicable.

Where teams finish with equal points, the winner of the direct encounter will determine the final position in the table. In the event that the situation remains one of equality, the difference between games won and lost (of all the matches) will be taken into consideration.

Postponed matches, which are only allowed in extreme cases, must be played before the end of the tournament. Teams, who for special reasons postpone a match, are responsible to inform the organizing committee and consult with opponents to re-fix the Rubber and book a court on a weekday to play the encounter. Payment of court will be the responsibility of the team postponing the match. Point for matches not played by the end of the tournament will be forfeited by the team who first postponed the match from its original date.

Tennis balls, acceptable to the opponents, must be provided by the couple shown on the left-hand side of the fixture.

METHOD OF APPLYING:

Applications are to be received ON LINE by not later than Sunday 18^th April 2010

Partners are to apply separately, each one specifying the other person’s name as a partner.

The first person of a double’s team to apply will not be charged immediately (application will be pending). Both players will be charged when the second partner applies.
