WILSON SINGLES TOURNAMENT

The “Wilson’s” Tennis Singles Championships for both Men and Ladies will this year start on the 18^th November 2006 and come to an end on the 14^th January 2007. These Championships are being sponsored by Wilson through their local agent Gordon Axiak.

The organizing committee of these tournaments invites all playing members to apply to participate in this event.  Applications are received On-Line through the Club’s website www.tennisclubkordin.com by not later than 5^th November 2006.

Applicants will be placed in a number of groups, depending on their level of play. Players in each group will play a Round Robin between them. Each Rubber will consist of two Sets with one (1) point awarded for each Set. Tie-Break will be played in both sets.  Matches will be played on Saturdays, Sundays and Public holidays. A walk-over is given after fifteen (15) minutes grace from the original starting-time provided Court is available.

Postponed matches, which are only allowed in extreme cases, must be played before the end of the tournament. Players who for a special reason postpone a match are responsible to inform the organizing Committee and consult with opponent to fix a  weekday to play the encounter. “Booking” and “Payment” of Court are the responsibilities of the player postponing the match. Points for matches not played by the end of the tournament will be forfeited by the player who first postponed the match from its original date .

Where players finish with equal points at the end of the tournament, the winner of the direct encounter will be declared the winner of the group. In case of a Drawn encounter, the number of games won against games lost throughout the tournament will be taken as deciding factor.

Players, who scratch or give two or more walkovers without valid reason, may be summoned before the Disciplinary Board.

Tennis balls, accepted to the opponent, must be provided by the player shown on the left-hand side of the fixtures.
